Introducing the Qwear Pride 2025 Zine: Black Queer & Trans Futures
“Our gathering is our protection. Our creativity is our resistance. Our joy is our inheritance.” — Amir Dixon
For the first time in our 14-year history, Qwear is bringing our style revolution off the screen and into your hands. In a world that works to erase us, Qwear Pride Zine 2025: Black Queer & Trans Futures is our living, breathing proof that we are here, we are seen, and we are never hiding.
Created in collaboration with Amir Now and Amanda Shea, the team behind the documentary BLACK: Narratives on Black Queer and Trans History,” this 50-page love note centers the voices, style, and leadership of Black Queer and Trans creatives shaping culture today.
We feature two groundbreaking figures on its covers: Amanda Shea—cultural strategist, poet, producer, and queer style icon—graces the print edition, and Yasmin Benoit—global asexual activist and fashion powerhouse—fronts the digital. Two powerful forces shaping culture and advancing collective liberation.
“Pride can’t just be celebration. It has to be strategy. This zine is both,” says Amir Dixon, Creative Director of the Zine. “Our gathering is our protection. Our creativity is our resistance. Our joy is our inheritance.”
Inside, readers will find original features on Boston-based changemakers including Adrianna Boulin, President of Boston Pride for the People; Giselle Byrd, Executive Director of The Theater Offensive; Celine Mulan, ballroom House Mother and community organizer; and YK, crowned New England Prince and streetwear innovator. Editorials dive deep into queer vernacular, ancestral memory, mutual aid, and fashion as protest, bringing forward the people and practices that sustain joy, survival, and change.
Entirely community-funded and censorship-free, Qwear Pride Zine 2025 honors the past, empowers the present, and dares to imagine the future—on our own terms.
